Rapid Antigen Test is a qualitative test that act as preliminary screening for COVID-19 infection. This test is used to detect the presence of specific SARS-CoV-2 antigen and should not be used as the sole criterion for the diagnosis of a SARS-CoV-2 viral infection while RT-PCR is a molecular diagnostic test that detects the presence of viral RNA to confirm an active COVID-19 infection.

Each Salixium COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit contains:
i. Test cassette (sealed in foil pouch).
ii. Extraction buffer tube and dripper.
ii. Disposable swabs (in sterile packing).
iv. Waste bag.
v. IFU (instruction for use).

The following are the test preparations before the test:
▶ Do no eat, smoke, chew or drink any beverages apart from plain water for at least 30 minutes before the test.
▶ It is important that you find a clean place to do the test.
▶ Identify a table and sanitise the surface thoroughly.
▶ Wash your hands with soap and make sure that your hands are dry before you perform the test.

After done with the procedures, discard all the items used into a provided waste bag and sealed the bag properly. Then, put the waste bag into the Salixium box and discard it in a household waste.

You can store the kit at 4 ºC – 30ºC (in a cool and dry place), do not freeze. Keep the test device sealed until used. Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat and keep away from children.

You need to insert the nasal swab approximately 2cm until you feel a slight resistance.
